Move from Quasar Cloud to Community

An organization moves from Quasar Cloud to your Community Edition node in one encrypted file. Its apps keep their API keys and its webhook endpoints keep their signing secrets, so your apps change only the Quasar URL and your webhook receivers change nothing.

Moves to your nodeStays in Quasar Cloud
The organization (with your node’s limits; the node admin becomes its owner)Members and their sign-in methods (a node has one admin)
Apps: API keys, IP and domain allow-lists, RPC overrides, Alchemy/QuickNode/Gelato/Pimlico keysBilling, quota balance and usage history
Webhook endpoints with their signing secretsSystem webhooks of Quasar Cloud
All transactions, with their AML results
Webhook deliveries of the last 30 days
Payments App records: accepted payments and invoices

📦 Export the Organization

Only an owner can export. On the organization page of the Quasar Dashboard , choose Export Organization and confirm with your password and, if it is on, your 2FA code.

The dashboard then shows the import key (QEX1-…) once. It is not stored anywhere: copy it before you download. The download link works once, for 10 minutes, and an organization can be exported once every 10 minutes. Every owner of the organization gets an email about the export.

The .qex file is encrypted with the key (AES-256-GCM), because it holds every secret of the organization. Keep the file and the key apart.

📥 Import It into Your Node

You need Community Edition 0.2 or later. In the /admin panel of your node, choose Import data from Quasar Cloud on the dashboard:

  1. Select the .qex file and enter the import key. Letter case and spaces do not matter.
  2. Analyze. The node reads the whole file and lists what it will create, what is already there, and what it leaves out, before it writes anything.
  3. Confirm with your password and start the import. The page shows the progress and then a report.

The node encrypts the secrets again with its own ENCRYPTION_KEY. Transactions that were still pending in Quasar Cloud go to your node’s trackers, so give your node an RPC provider for their chains (an app’s own Alchemy or QuickNode key moves with it).

What the node leaves out, and lists:

  • RPC URLs your node’s outbound policy refuses, such as private addresses.
  • Webhook endpoints your node does not accept: plain HTTP in production, or a second localhost endpoint in the organization. Deliveries of these endpoints are left out too.

🔁 Switch Over

  1. Import the organization into your node.
  2. Point your apps at the node: set baseUrl of @tuwaio/quasar-sdk, the URL of preFlightTxCheck, and --api-url of the webhook relay (see Self-Hosting). The secret keys stay the same.
  3. Export and import again. The second import adds the transactions created since the first one and updates those whose status changed in Quasar Cloud. It leaves alone the settings you changed on your node. Importing the same file twice changes nothing, and an import that stopped half way finishes when you run it again.
  4. Deactivate the apps in Quasar Cloud, or delete the organization there. Until then both sides may deliver a webhook for the same transaction: make receivers idempotent on txKey and action.
